Here is some info on the motors different models if it helps, on this one I'm learning as i go.
The F engine family from Mazda is a straight-4 piston engine. This motor was found in the Mazda B-Series truck and 1984-1992 Mazda 626 families. These are entirely different engines than the Mazda B engine family.

F/MA
The 2.0 L (1970 cm³) F/MA was the first F-family engine. Bore was 80 mm and stroke was 98 mm. This SOHC engine with a <a href="http://"http://www.biocrawler.com/encyclopedia/Carburetor"" target="_blank">2 barrel carb produced 103 hp (76 kW) and 123 ft·lbf (167 N·m). A more-efficient 1 barrel version produced 90 hp (66 kW).

FE
The 2.0 L (1998 cm³) FE was very different with a square 86 mm bore and stroke. It was an 8-valve SOHC engine for front-wheel drive use. Output was 83 hp (62 kW) for the <a href="http://"http://www.biocrawler.com/encyclopedia/Carburetor"" target="_blank">carburetor version, or 93 hp (69 kW) with fuel injection.

• 1985-1987 Mazda B2000

The 8-valve <a href="http://www.biocrawle...a/Turbocharged" target="_blank">turbocharged FET version of the FE produced 116 hp (87 kW) and 137 ft·lbf (186 N·m). The Japanese variant of this engine was dubbed the Magnum Turbo.

FE3
The FE3 was a DOHC variant of the FE. Officially called the FE DOHC, it was used in some European and Japanese Mazdas, but no American or Australian ones. However, it can be found in the U.S., Australian, and other 1995+ <a href="http://"http://www.biocrawler.com/encyclopedia/Kia_Sportage"" target="_blank">Kia Sportage. It can be fitted with a crankshaft from the F2 to produce 2.3 L Stroke, but there are numerous problems with this conversion including requiring aftermarket pistons. Engines with a black rocker cover are 1.8 L, while those with a gold cover are 2.0 L. There were at least six differant FE DOHC engines available.

A high-compression variant of the FE3 exists but the only truly distinguishing mark is the domed pistons inside the engine. Factory redline was 7000 rpm but well made examples with aftermarket engine management and better valve springs are seeing continued 8000 rpm usage.

2.2 L F2 - 2184 cc (86x94 mm) - Stroked 12-valve version of the FE. Found in the first-generation Mazda MX-6 and <a href="http://"http://www.biocrawler.com/encyclopedia/Ford_Probe"" target="_blank">Ford Probe, 1988-1992 Mazda 626, and 1987-1993 B2200.

F2T
The F2T is a turbocharged F2 with 3 valves per cylinder (12 valves total) and an air-to-air <a href="http://"http://www.biocrawler.com/encyclopedia/Intercooler"" target="_blank">intercooler. Used in the 1988-1992 Mazda MX-6 Turbo and the 1988-1992 Mazda 626 Turbo, it produced 144 hp (107 kW) and 190 ft·lbf (258 N·m).

FS
The 2.0 L (1991 cm³) FS was one of the last F-family engines. With an 83 mm bore and 92 mm stroke, it produced 130 hp (97 kW) and 135 ft·lbf (183 N·m). In 1999 the engine underwent several changes, most notably a distributorless ignition and was called the FSDE.

A special turbocharged version of the FS was produced for the 2003 Mazdaspeed Protegé. It produced 170 hp (127 kW) and 160 ft·lbf (217 N·m).

In Japan a higher-performance version of the 1993-1997 FS engine was offered with a distributorless ignition and higher compression ratio, known as the FSZE.

F8 no sorry mate but i will see what comes up next time i go A searching Mazda info. There may be something in the pdf's when i sort the size problem out as they are now single units i may have a way to group them. Man Mazda's are worse than Datsun's with model differences ans variants
