whats going on guys, thought id start up a thread about my 121 and the adventures we have together. judging off my internet searches it doesnt seem like many people play around with these. ive had my licence back for 3 weeks now (lost it for 12 months) and ive jumped straight back into it. anyway here it is so far

i did i tiny bit of work to the door in an attempt to get the speakers to sound better. sprayed some bodydeadener in and outside and sealed one of the holes on all four doors. even though its a pretty boj install, it still makes a big difference imo

i got rid of any random bits from the interior (amp and speakers dont count, id probably go insane)

got some bars welded up in the back in an attempt to stiffen it up a bit, much more rigid now imo

butchered the tiny intake box and made room for a 3inch intake pipe and also cut out all the fins and restrictive business out of the bottom

its fed from behind the bumper (temporary fitment atm, going in search of a nice bell mouth)

ive removed the air conditioning and power steering as well

not really planning any engine mods as i think the best thing to do would be an engine swap. id prefer to modify this engine, but i dont really know what to do or where to do it. like i said, info is scarce on these things. will prob hit someone up about it when i get some money. im not that cluey with cars but im eager to learn and eager to drive. next thing id like to do is somehow replace the crappy 121 seats with some nice huggy astina seats (i used to own a 2L BA before i lost my licence)

Hi guys
I have a skyactiv sedan 2012 its the luxury version with the leather interior etc....

sad thing is all of these models overseas have this option ...and or ...it is standard ....the welcome lights in the foot wells...blue in color and illuminated door sills...

We don't have these options here however I can get my hands on both kits from the UK and have them shipped to OZ...but no one can tell me if these things will fit...and work...I have given my VIN to the UK guys but its not coming up on their systems...
Mazda here say they don't know....and they don't know if the wiring etc is the same set up....I would assume it was...
but anyways

can anyone help...and tell me if they will work without too much issue?

Snorkel and fuel

Hi All,

I bought a Mazda Snorkel for my 2012 4x4 TD BT-50. My fuel usage around my neighbourhood was around 11 L/km but post the snorkel it is showing between 13 / 15 L/km. Interestingly when I drive on the 80 kph road around here the usage has dropped from around 9 L/km to 8 L/km. In addition to this I now find when I hit the 80 kph road I really have to watch the speedo because the car now wants to gallop.

My question is why it would appear to be using more fuel (though I dont think it really is) running around our town? I am not sure how the system calculates the fuel usage but am wondering if the extra metre of air pipe is affecting the calculation.

Anyone?

Hey,

Has anyone dealt with this car or know anything inregards to the sound system? the stock 7" screen doesnt have gps/ipod/dvd player, im looking to change it over to a generic aftermarket one that has all these features in it..

From the research i've done online it looks like its quite easy to do with the standard model of this car, however with the one ive got (bose system) its apparently quite difficult and caused a few systems to blow.

Opinions/advice? would be appreciated
